AAF’s ‘100 Years 100 Trees’ Campaign

Following AAF International’s 100th Anniversary in May 2021, AAF’s Energy and Industry division launched the 100 Years 100 Trees campaign to celebrate this remarkable milestone. With this endeavour, AAF also hoped to raise awareness of the importance of contributing towards a greener future.

Many AAF employees from around the world have been involved, recognising this initiative as an opportunity to involve families and wider communities. There have been many positive outcomes, including being able to use this as a practical example to help educate the younger generation on the importance of sustainability.

In September of 2021, AAF’s Global COO for the Energy and Industry division, Paul Sennett, visited the company offices and production factory in Gasny, France, and planted the first of 20 trees before commenting,

“It’s nice to have the opportunity to get involved directly in the 100 Years 100 Trees campaign. I encourage everyone to consider getting involved directly, give a little back to our local communities, and help raise awareness of the importance of bringing clean air to life.”

With this initiative concluding at the end of May 2022, AAF is pleased to announce that in addition to the trees already planted by employees it will also be working with an organisation called One Tree Planted to further increase the number of trees being planted. One Tree Planted will be coordinating the planting of trees on behalf of AAF across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa. One Tree Planted is a global tree planting organisation, helping to restore forests, create habitats for biodiversity and make a positive social impact around the world. The organisation has planted over 40 million trees in more than 43 countries across the globe since 2014.

Tree planting has many positives, helping to clean the air we breathe, adsorbing harmful pollutants and releasing oxygen for us to breathe. Healthy, strong trees also act as carbon sinks, reducing the effects of climate change and the risk of natural disasters like floods and landslides. AAF is now expecting to plant over 3,000 trees as part of this initiative, helping to bring clean air to life around the world.
