The Challenge of Creating Product
Designs for Bids
Every day Sales Reps and Design Engineers waste valuable time and lose sales as they navigate the difficult process between project research and quotation, in order to create product designs for equipment bids. There's no doubt that staying on top of technical equipment details and customers' specific needs is extremely challenging.
Creating custom designs, determining pricing, and waiting for responses from both manufacturers and customers can sap productivity and extend sales cycles. The typical product design process requires exchanging multiple emails in an effort to obtain manufacturing specifications, and then again to secure pricing. With all of the time that this process takes, sometimes the sale is lost along the way. Reps and Engineers miss out on growth and sales opportunities due to a lack of independence from the supplier, leading to decreased productivity and an inability to respond quickly to customer issues.
A Guided Design Experience for
In order to solve these issues, AAF Flanders created the Equipment Configurator. This product design software is designed for rapid prototyping, so that the design process can be accelerated and quotes generated promptly.
Equipment Configurator gives the user a guided product design experience. The program starts with default values for common selections, as well as help screens for areas where people tend to stumble. As the program is navigated, drawings and product renderings are provided at key input locations to explain the differences between design options, thus eliminating the need to consult factories for this information.
Dynamically Adjusting Product Design Software
The product design software dynamically adjusts with each information input, resulting in a final design that includes pricing, to-scale CAD drawings, DXF files, equipment specifications, and pricing. The program is simple to navigate, and designs can be easily modified as needed. Equipment Configurator therefore allows users to respond quickly, confidently, and accurately to project requests.
